A seminar by Gareth Rees- The Value and Use of Communication and Collaboration in English Language Teaching

On the 18th of April, Gareth Rees gave a seminar at EMU on The Value and Use of Communication and Collaboration in ELT. Sponsored by Longman Pearson and Berberoglu bookshop, the talk set the skills of communication and collaboration within the context of the 21st Century Skills Framework, with a discussion of the role of ELT within a wider educational setting. The seminar took place at the Central Lecture halls, and attended by SFL teachers, teachers from other departments as well as post-graduate students of the ELT department. Two English teachers from Russia, Vladimir University, were also there. Gareth Rees works at the University of the Arts London, and is currently Course Leader for EAP Overseas, and Course Leader for Cultural Awareness and Inter-cultural Communication. He is the co-author on the Language Leader series (Pearson) and writes for the BBC Learning English website.
